Halloween was the Shiznet, I didn’t really dress up or anything but I painted my face, tattooed people and ate black cupcakes..

I also started a “custom” tattoo, Its going pretty well and I’m having fun with it. I finished up most of the line work and basic color. There is still more line work and more color left, so hopefully I’ll have some “finished work” photos soon.

This Saturday 11/08 I will be attending The 10th Annual Texas Tattoo Round Up which will be held at Crowne Plaza Addison/ near the Galleria If anyone is intrested in heading out there the address is as follows: 14315 Midway Road, Addison, Texas 75001 (972) 980-8877. I’m pretty excited because this is the first year I will be going not only as a tattoo enthusiast but an artist as well “well apprentice”.

It seems like just yesterday planning for Halloween was taking place,  It wasn’t and it’s here, today is halloween and I have a full schedule. To start off I have an exam which I still have to watch two films for. After that its off to the shop for a busy day. The studio is offering a sweet deal on halloween tattoos and I’m pretty excited about that. I get to tattoo people! I have my first custom tattoo coming up, which I think is fucking gnarly. I’ve also been tattooing more frequently and I I’m slowly getting better. There’s a crap load of stuff I want to test out, so pretty soon I’m going to need guinea pigs to start experimenting! For now here’s what I have done recently:

As far as piercings go, they have been going really well. I’m not doing as many of them as before, but I definitely feel more confident about the procedures. The studio hired a new piercer and he has been doing a great job. I have been trying to watch him closely to see what I can pick up from him.

I finally got  a day off (Tuesday) which means I have some time to catch up on my labs/homework/internet stuff and just chill out for a bit. This past Tuesday I after I was done with everything I got some Vietnamese take-out and watched T.V. for the first time in while.

My phone was recently lost/stolen and it’s actually a nice break not to have one and having people call, text or e-mail me for while. I mean I’m pretty sure people are doing that I just have no way of getting back to them. That will all come to an end next week once I get my OLD phone turned back on until I can afford a damn PDA..

The Halloween event I was talking about has now been confirmed.  All of us at the clown are really looking forward to it and hopefully things don’t get out of hand. We will be offering Halloween tattoos starting at $20.00 and there will be couple of designs to choose from. Since my apprenticeship quite a few of my friends have been wanting to get some work done by me, so this should be their chance to show how hardcore they are by sporting a Halloween tattoo. The event is an all day event and the earlier you show up the better. No appointments are necessary and everything will be based on a first come first serve basis. check back for more info and updates

I began piercing recently and it seems to be going well. I’m still getting the hand of it but I feel comfortable doing then procedures. I am also learning the horrors in it as well. in the past two weeks we have had several people show up with piercings gone wrong which were of course performed at other studios at a “discount price”.  The most horrific one was a young girl who had her tongue pierced the day before only to wake up to a swollen black tongue. The one coming in second was a girl with a lip piercing, The shop she received her piercing at used the wrong jewelry to cut cost and ended up almost crying. her lip swelled and the bead was swallowed by her lip. After having someone with over 20 years experience try and resolve the mistake she ended up having to go to the emergency room to have it cut out with a scalpel out and sewn back up. I was unfortunately unable to get photos but here’s something as equally as disturbing, just picture it darker almost black…

The studio recently let go of three employees, which I was pretty bummed about at first but now fully understand. Their work ethics had spiraled down and they where putting out some not so great work. I  see it as not so much personal but business, after all it is the studios reputation at hand. The studio is now in a “rebuild” mode which involves making changes and adding some new GREAT artists that are able to meet the high standards required in this industry.

The other night I witnessed something pretty shocking, three men held up four men at gun point over the money in their wallets. Not only was the act idiotic but a sad reminder of the power of money. The shocking part was they fired. I didn’t see if any one was killed or hurt, but just knowing that there’s people who will kill other human beings over a couple of dollars is sad. Human life is priceless and if your in serious need of some money get a damn job like the rest of us. The shock of the incident was soon outweighed by the anger over lethargic attitude of the Fort Worth Police, who it took over an hour to arrive. I guess there must have been some crazy incident of greater importance than a man possibly being shot, which caused the delay. anyways this is neither the actual officer nor even the same police department, but I CAN’T say that this is NOT what they may have been doing.

on 09/25 I took a small break and went to Turner Falls OK. with some of my family. It was nice to get away from everything for a short while, and I even go to take some cool photos. The trip up there was a bit boring and made me realize how lucky I am to live in Texas. When we got there my uncle, cousin and noticed we forgot our swimming trunks and had to go on what seemed like a mission to try and get some. We drove into what they referred to as “town” and after not being able to find anything stopped at a convenience store to ask where we could find some. As it turns out the nearest clothing store “Wal-Mart” was about 30 miles away and we had no choice but to make the drive. I guess with everything aside the trip was still fun and I found out Oklahoma is not such a cool place to live.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had time to post anything on here so I thought I’d post something.

As far as school is concerned… I’m really only liking one of my five classes which is my film class. Other than that, well it’s school… “ya got to do what ya got to do”.

My apprenticeship is going swell as usual, I’m starting to get the flow of things a little bit better, but still have a crap load to learn. I guess thats my biggest problem right now, “not knowing exactly what to do” but I’ve been picking up on things on a daily basis so its all adding up. There is also a Halloween event in the works and I’ll post more info on that as soon as I can.

The studio just  hired a new artist who is putting out some pretty gnarly work and is featured in this months Tattoo Magazine, click the pic to check his stuff out.

Theirs also some brand spanking new photos of several artists there using Neumatic tattoo machines on the studios Myspace. Psycho Clown is the first Tattoo Studio in Fort Worth Texas to be fully equipped and ready to go for all body art needs. They are truly something special creating awesome texture and blending colors like never before imagined. In the hands of great artists these machines will perform beautiful pieces of art.

Recently we had a Clown Day at the studio, and some great pictures to go along with it.  Who knows? maybe there will be an official “Clown Day” at the Clown..

This past week, well I don’t know what to say about this past week here is a video to sum things up.

Basically it was this or a comeover! In the end losing my hair wasn’t that big of a loss, just about a years worth of hair. It’s been about two days and I still have this “mullet” and hopefully it will be gone after tomorrow.

On Friday we had these to two chicks show up at the clown to simply hang out, and heres a little taste on what all happened.

Geez these last two weeks have been super fucking crazy!

I shot a wedding, which sucked ass, but I got some extra cash out of it. I still hate doing these damn things, but cash money makes the world go round.

I had been wanting to tattoo something for awhile now, and I ended up doing quite a few instead. I was really excited to get to do a large piece, because I get to be more creative and color things up, plus it emphasizes your work in my opinion. For the first tattoo I chose a koi fish because it didn’t seem too difficult and there where many lines, which meant “good practice”. I started off a little nervous because I didn’t know what I was doing, but once I got into it I was only concentrating on the tattoo and felt comfortable with what I was doing. In the end it wasn’t great but I’m comfortable with it considering I’ve only done one other and a retouch. Towards the end I was really pumped up on finishing it because I wanted to see the outcome, but my uncle tapped out on me so I didn’t get to finish the “eye” or any of the “fins”.

On Wednesday a young girl showed up for her first tattoo, Chad was already working on a client and he had another on the way. The girl brought with her a sketch of the design for the tattoo and this time I wasn’t nervous one bit I had just done one the day before so I knew what to expect on the order of things. I talked to her a little bit to make her feel comfortable, and that’s when I found out it was her FIRST tattoo. My goals going into this was STRAIGHT SOLID LINES and SOLID SHADING. I was pleased with the tattoo and I was happy because she was happy with it. I even got a 20. dollar tip!

The girl I tattooed on Wednesday brought her friend in to have some work done by me as well, so that was pretty kool. At this point I was really comfortable with what I was doing and tattooed the head of a panda inside of a heart, which by the way I had to draw over and over again until she like it. She was pleased with it, but I found out how hard it is for details in a small tattoo.

I also tattooed a hear with some music notes which turned out pretty gnarly, some of the notes looked funny, but it was flash and that how she wanted it.

I did another tattoo on Tuesday, which was on an existing client coming in to finish it up. There where previously two other artist who attempted do the line work on this piece, but it seemed they didn’t really care or weren’t into it. I wasn’t nervous at all, I totally had my game face on and went in head first. I did what I could and tried to hide some of the things I didn’t like and add to it in order to bring this tattoo to life. In the end the client was really pleased with the tattoo and couldn’t stop looking at his back through a mirror, and that’s what I think tattooing is all about “giving people something they’ll keep and love forever, not the looking into the mirror part”…

I’m thinking this is going to be a pretty long post, only because I haven’t had time to post more frequently, and also because there is a quite a bit of things to blog about.
I’ll start off by talking about the first tattoo I did. I was really hoping to get a lot more artistic with my first tattoo, but sadly enough I was unable to. The girl I tattooed on “Whitney” was wanting the “Anti-Christ Super Star symbol” as made famous by Marilyn Manson. I think I definitely learned some stuff about tattooing after doing only one tattoo. I’m just a quick learner like that, and  hands on approach only makes it easier for me. It’s not very good at all (I’m my own worst critique) but, eh you have to start somewhere.

Last week I had my knuckles tattooed on by Larry Owens of Psycho Clown Tattoos. I came up with the idea relatively quickly, I had a hard time keeping my fingers on the home keys in elementary school and what else but that to put on there. It’s not everyones cup of tea, but I could care less. I don’t see myself as a huge computer geek, but I must say I put in the hours so the tattoo fits me I guess. I already have plans or my next tattoo, which will be the first part of my sleeve. It’s going to be a bag of popcorn with maybe some film strips around the edges. I plan on going with a film/photography/tattoo theme, which should combine all of my passions onto my arm..

On the Fourth of July I we had some good times at The Clown. Long story short Kevin and I were shot with paintballs. Geez, where do I start… so on Weds. after I got off work, I had some crazy stuff planned, which we’ll call “Super Project XXX”. I was a little nervous because it was going to be my first time doing anything like this. I was really more worried about the actual filming “capturing all angles just right and stuff like that” than I was about what I would be filming. To make a long story short I ended up smoking some pot to relax a little, and ended up puking and passing out in the restroom. How and why, I’m clueless… quite honestly I’m probably the first person on earth to have had reaction like that, which is kind of weird, and by weird I mean embarrasing. It wasn’t like my first time, however it was may first time in a couple of years so that my have played a small role in my little incident. After eventually coming back to most of my senses, I joined my peers for the last couple of min of the “Super Project XXX”. After everything was over I headed home, but not before stopping at What-A-Burger for what I like to “Le Hardcoure Mounchis”. I eventually made it home, ate ALL of my food and slept like a fat kid dreaming of cake. The most memorable moment of the night would definately have to be when I “attempted” to write on a dry erase board, and was unsuccessful. I was honestly too high to function, so I’m calling it quits for now!

I’m pretty stoked because I just got my tattoo equipment and even done my first tattoo. I wasn’t very pleased with it, but for a first tattoo I guess it’s O.K. I’m looking for people to tattoo on though because I want to get better, so if your looking for a free tattoo, holla at yo’ boy.. Haha! My machines are two Orion Next Generation Liner & Shader, my ink’s are Skin Candy, which consist of some of the dopest colors I’ve seen. So I guess watch out cuz I’m the new ink slinging kid in town and I plan on only moving forward..

This past week has been pretty kick ass, well in my book anyway. I met some cool people and hung out at “the shop” alot. I found out I might start tattooing at the shop really soon, which I’m pumped up about.
In other Tattoo News, Katherine Von Drachenberg has officially lost her title for most tattoos in a 24 hour period. She currently held the title with 400 until it was stripped away by Oliver Peck of Dallas Texas who just happens to also be her ex-husband. This Friday the 13th, Oliver Peck of Elm Street Tattoo inked up 415 tattoos in 24 hours “woah”.. He tattooed the number 13 and is known to do this just for kicks every friday the 13th.. Congrats! And hats off to you, Oliver for bringing the throne to Texas..
